West Highland Way Scotland 2010 |
The West Highland Way is a long distance footpath in Scotland about 95 miles long. It starts in Mingavie outside Glasgow and ends in Fort William.
The path uses old drovers and military roads and takes about 7 days to complete. Starting at the obelisk in Milngavie it moves through open countryside , through the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, up and over Conic Hill up the East side of Loch Lomond to Inverarnan. The Way then carries on to Crianlarich, Tyndrum, crosses Rannoch Moorinto Glen Coe. After climbing the Devils Staircase the path descends to Kinlochleven and finishes at Fort William at the foot on Ben Nevis
